Free Pregnancy Testing is available on a walk-in basis. No appointment is necessary for this urine-sensitive test. The recommended time to take a pregnancy test is when your period is at least one week late. The urine-sensitive test is very accurate with quick results. Blood pregnancy tests are also available for a minimal charge by appointment. You will meet with a Counselor to discuss your results and pregnancy options.

Ultrasound
Our technicians perform Ultrasounds by appointment to determine the pregnancy gestation. While this is not a diagnostic tests, patients who are uncertain of their last menstrual period often find this service invaluable when making a decision about their pregnancy. After the Ultrasound, you will meet with a Health Educator to discuss your pregnancy gestation and options.
Surgical Abortion
We provide Surgical Abortion with twilight anesthesia up to 17 1/2 weeks by Ultrasound using the Vacuum Aspiration method. If you are in the second trimester of your pregnancy (12 to 17 1/2 weeks), you may need to have a two-day procedure. For your comfort and safety this process includes insertion of Laminaria into the entrance of your cervix on the first day. The Laminaria slowly and gently begin opening your cervix overnight in preparation for Vacuum Aspiration on the second day.
On the day of your abortion appointment, you will have an Ultrasound to measure the actual size of your pregnancy. You will have pre-operative blood work and urine testing, a private counseling session with a Health Educator, and a relaxed recovery period with our professional Nursing staff after surgery. You should expect to spend between four and six hours in the center for this entire process.
We accept most insurance plans and our highly trained and experience insurance department would be pleased to assist you with your insurance coverage questions.
Medical (Non-Surgical) Abortion
Non-surgical abortions, sometimes called “medical abortions,” are used to end an early pregnancy. Early pregnancy means that your pregnancy began 49 days or less from the beginning of your last menstrual period. An ultrasound is used to confirm the actual pregnancy measurement.
Non-surgical abortion uses two medications; Mifepristone blocks a hormone needed for your pregnancy to continue. When used together with another medicine called Misoprostol (which causes the uterus to contract), the pregnancy is usually ended. Since there is always a statistically small chance of failure with this method, you must be willing to have a surgical abortion if the non-surgical abortion fails. In addition, you must be willing to commit to at least two visits to the center, be in good health, and have immediate, reliable transportation in the event of an emergency.
HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and Cancer Prevention/Treatment
A Colposcopy is a special method (using an instrument called a colposcope) to magnify the cervix approximately 15 times, allowing the doctor to see more than during a routine pelvic exam. This method is recommended for a variety of reasons: an abnormal Pap smear, cervical abnormalities, or a history of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus - the virus that causes genital warts). A Biopsy is when the doctor takes small pinches of tissue from the cervix to be examined by a pathologist. The pathologist will report back to the doctor with her/his findings of any abnormal cells. Laser surgery may be needed to remove abnormal cells, tissue or lesions.
A Health Educator will notify you if you need any of these services. If you are new to our center, a Health Educator can answer your questions and schedule an exam or Colposcopy/Biopsy.
Laser Surgery
During a Colposcopy, a laser beam viewed through an operating microscope (colposcope) may be used to destroy abnormal cells, tissue or lesions. The energy of the laser beam, which is actually the most intense form of light known, causes the diseased cells to be instantly evaporated like water becoming steam. Laser surgery is recommended for patients with abnormal cells identified by a Pap smear or biopsy, cervical abnormalities, or HPV (Human Papilloma Virus - the virus that causes genital warts). Our Health Educators can answer questions about Laser Surgery and schedule your appointment.
